Taking Initiative

Discover Qi Gong 3

Non to low impact standing/sitting exercises and basic movements of Chinese Qi Gong in a slow to medium paced flowing, peaceful exercise class; also breathwork and meditation activities. Gain physical and mental balance, reduce stress, gain flexibility and mobility to stiff joints. Numerous health benefits as well as injury and illness prevention. Class participation requires standing movement.

Restorative Yoga 3

Restorative Yoga is a practice of conscious relaxation, using props in every posture to support your muscles in gentle, comfortable positions. There are NO Downward Facing Dog and Cobra that are the keystones of other popular yoga styles. Basic relaxation is the mainstay of a restorative yoga practice. Poses include gentle supine twists, supported forward folds, gentle reclining backbends and hip openers. The poses are held for anywhere from 3 to 30 min giving your body plenty of time to relax so that your mind can enter a quiet, meditative state. NO YOGA EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. Destress before your weekend activities. Blocks and bolsters provided. Please bring a mat, blankets and any other props.

ATV/SNOWMOBILE SAFETY

Participation in an ATV and snowmobile education course will teach how to properly operate and maintain an ATV and snowmobile. Laws, responsibilities, and personal safety will also be covered. Passage of final exams is required. You must attend the whole class in order to receive your certificates. Students under 16 yrs of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. 

 

Fine Art Museum

The trip leaves Wells High School at 8:30a.m. we arrive at the Museum by 10:30.  Because of covid there are no docents available you will be free to explore the museum on your own. You will not want to miss the new Turner exhibit. There are two places in the museum that you can dine at. The van will leave the museum at 1:30p.m. to return to the High School. The trip is limited to 7 people. The cost of the trip is $55.00 per person.

Stretch and Tone Session 4

(running for 6+ years)-This course is a low-impact, full-body workout to help tone muscles, increase range of motion, mobility and flexibility and help reduce stress.  You will move through a series of stretching and toning exercises that will elongate and strengthen muscles.  No experience is necessary.  Bring a mat for floorwork and light hand-held weights or 2 filled up water bottles to use during the toning section.  

Cross Country & Snowshoe Trip to Jackson, NH Touring Center

The “Foundation” maintains 150 km of trails that are considered by many to be the finest cross-country ski trails in the Eastern United States. Jackson Ski Touring Foundation presents state of the art grooming on trails designed to suit every taste and ability, whether you prefer quiet striding through  old growth, New England forest, or all out skate skiing. You  can visit on-trail destinations: the warming cabin and Cocoa  Cabin on the Ellis River Trail. We will arrive to have a full day of cross country skiing or snowshoeing. You may bring your own equipment or rent at the touring center. Before heading back, we will dine at one of the fine local restaurants. This trip will enrich lives and promote a healthy lifestyle. Rental fees and food expenses are participant’s responsibility.  Maximum of 8 may participate on this trip.
