Easy Hikes with Jackie

Interested in getting back outside after the cold Winter. Join me on easy walking hikes in the area. We’ll cover 2-3 miles per hike. Meet up at Wells High School in front of the 3/4 doors over by the parking lot. Then we’ll commute to the hiking spot of the day. No experience needed, all levels welcome. ATV/SNOWMOBILE SAFETY

Participation in an ATV and snowmobile education course will teach how to properly operate and maintain an ATV and snowmobile. Laws, responsibilities, and personal safety will also be covered. Passage of final exams is required. You must attend the whole class in order to receive your certificates. Students under 16 yrs of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Boat America

Approved for Maine Operators under 26 years of age on inland waters and coastal waters!
This course is approved by the State of Maine and meets the requirements of the new law requiring boater education for operators between 16 and 25 years of age on inland and coastal waters out to the Three-Mile Line. It meets the requirements for PWC operators ages 16 and 17. This is the NASBLA (National Association of Boating Law Administrators) approved course, for all ages, honored in all states, on inland and coastal waters, where boater education is required. Course ID Card must be carried when operating.
LINE HANDLING, NO JUST KNOTS

This 4-hour course is designed to give Boaters a working knowledge and understanding of lines and line handling techniques. It will include a discussion of the various types of lines, and related safety concerns, as well as how to tie the essential knots used every day on the water. A hands-on approach will be used to demonstrate and practice each knot. This course will also cover Docking and Anchoring equipment and procedures with an emphasis on how it all works. E-BIRD, MERLIN, I-NATURALIST WORKSHOP

Whooo’s out there??? What is that plant? How to use E-bird, Merlin, and iNaturalist. Great Works Regional Land Trust is off ering a one-night class designed to help you use technology to identify birds, plants, and wildlife in your own backyard. Th is class will be followed up with a weekend hike on one of GWRLT’s public preserves in the school district region. Learn how to navigate and store your data on E-Bird and iNaturalist. Use Merlin in real time to identify birdsong and connect what you hear to what you see. Whether in your backyard or deep in the woods, you can track your wildlife adventures by place and by date. Participants should bring their smartphones to download apps they choose to use. Th is workshop will be followed by a walk on a GWRLT property the following Saturday (Sunday rain date). ZUMBA Session 3

Stretch & Tone S3 TUESDAYS

This course is for people experiencing tight hips and low back discomfort , as well as active people and athletes. Tight hips impact knees and low back. Contributing factors are long periods of sitting which lock hips tight. We begin with simple stretches and breathwork for deep relaxation and progress as mobility increases. No experience is necessary, Bring a mat for floorwork.
