Find your inner muse. Write to express yourself freely and creatively. Explore different types of creative writing including memoir, poetry, short story, play and maybe that novel you always wanted to start. We will cover styles of writing, techniques, use of voice, and taking types of writing from brainstorm to rough draft to final copy. You will have writing assignments in class and for homework. There will be verbal sharing and small group editing sessions where you will critique the writing of your classmates. The art of storytelling awaits you. INSTRUCTOR: Miriam Myers-Burch is a retired high school teacher who taught English for over 35 years. She worked with both advanced placement and fundamental English students. Miriam has an M.Ed. in Reading and Language from Boston University and a background in speech communication.
