Take a Historical Tour of Wells & Ogunquit
with Julia Einstein
Take a historical tour of Wells and Ogunquit by viewing the objects we have collected at the Historical Society of Wells and Ogunquit. The 1862 Meetinghouse holds a collection of artifacts from local families, fishermen, farms and businesses, and it is our mission to preserve them as “treasures of our past.” They are on exhibit to tell the story of Wells and Ogunquit which began as one town in 1640. You’ll be guided in a fun, informal study that includes a tour of the museum, lively discussions and a bit of drawing as well. Enjoy the fun of discovery and surprise with the items in our collection. Meet at The Meetinghouse Museum, 938 Post Road in Wells. INSTRUCTOR: Julia Einstein has been a museum educator for over 12 years at the Portland Museum of Art, and now as the administrator at The Meetinghouse Museum at the Historical Society of Wells and Ogunquit. Her work centers on the notion of creating a connection for interpreting and sharing the world of history and art.
